In Loving Memory of Liz

A Life Filled with Love, Creativity, and Resilience

Celebration of Life Service

Elizabeth Anne Adamson (Stucky) packed so much into her 63 years on this earth. She passed away peacefully at home in San Antonio early on the morning of August 13, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Liz was born in Minneapolis, MN, and was the second daughter of William and Patricia Stucky (Bany), who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband Scott and daughter Samantha; sister Eva Kratts of Knoxville, TN; sister Katie Smith (Chris) of San Antonio, TX; nephews and nieces Andrew Smith (Ashley) of Griffin, GA, Savannah, Meredith, and Douglas; Matthew Smith (Cheyenne) of Windcrest, TX, and Daniel; Leah Liles (Brandon) of San Antonio, TX, Branch and Blair; Gretchen See (Jacob) of Knoxville, TN; and Natalie Sauer (Thomas) of Newport Beach, CA.

Liz attended grade school in Rosemount, MN, and lived there into her late teens. After taking courses at Mankato State University, Liz moved to Texas to join her family, who had relocated to San Antonio. There, she attended the University of Texas at San Antonio and graduated with a B.S. in Fine Arts.

Liz lived many professional lives. From children’s portrait photography during high school to retail merchandising, cosmetics, aircraft interior design, commercial property management, medical equipment innovation, non-profit foundation management, and medical clinic marketing, Liz’s trademark artistic and creative gifts always found their way through.

Liz met Scott, her one true love, on a blind date and they were married for 28 years. They shared many adventures over the years, setting up homes on Long Island, NY, and Plano, TX, before eventually coming home to San Antonio.

After many years of lovingly exhaustive efforts, Liz and Scott welcomed their daughter, Samantha, in 2008, and more love than they could ever imagine filled their hearts. Soon after, a years-long novel infant medical situation profoundly challenged them as new parents. Through fierce parental determination, the young family persevered and Sam thrived.

Liz and Scott found their way to becoming great parents, sharing so many of their qualities with Sam. They loved to travel around South Texas and nearby states to watch their beautiful and talented daughter Sam play fast-pitch softball. Liz enjoyed traveling to other places too when time allowed, especially to the beach.

Liz will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to so many. She was also a strong fighter, battling cancer for almost a year and a half. As she often expressed in various colorful ways, “Cancer Sucks.”
